01 Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, information generated through your use of the app, and certain technical data to keep Aura running reliably.

Information you provide:

• Account details (name, email address, profile photo) when you sign up with Apple or another method
• Outfit images and photos you submit for AI scanning
• Wardrobe collections, item names, and notes you create
• Subscription and billing information (processed securely by Apple or Stripe; we do not store payment card details)

Information generated automatically:

• Aura Scores, aesthetic labels, and style analysis results
• App usage patterns (features accessed, scan frequency, session duration)
• Device identifiers, operating system version, and app version
• Crash logs and diagnostic reports

02 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Aura app and its AI features
• Generate your Aura Score, aesthetic identity, style analysis, and wardrobe recommendations
• Personalise your feed, style twin matching, and dupe suggestions
• Process Aura Plus subscription payments and manage your account
• Send transactional communications (receipts, password resets, important updates)
• Detect, prevent, and investigate fraudulent or abusive activity
• Improve our AI models in aggregate, anonymised form

We do not use your personal information to serve targeted advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles on your behalf.

03 AI Scanning & Image Processing

When you scan an outfit, the image is transmitted securely to our servers for AI analysis. We process images to detect fabric type, colour palette, silhouette, and aesthetic signals.

Saved scans are stored securely and associated with your account. You may delete any or all saved scans at any time from within the app.

04 Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Trusted vendors who help us operate the app (cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics) under strict confidentiality agreements
• Legal compliance: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Aura, our users, or the public
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, subject to the acquirer agreeing to honour this policy
• With your consent: For any other purpose, only with your explicit permission

05 Data Retention

We retain your account information and wardrobe data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Unsaved scan images are deleted from our servers within 24 hours of processing.

06 Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict certain processing activities
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

07 Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Aura uses industry-standard measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, and access controls to protect your information.

No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at security@aura.app.

08 Children's Privacy

Aura is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

09 Third-Party Services

Aura may contain links to third-party websites or use third-party services (such as affiliate link technology provided by Sovrn/VigLink). These third parties have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through Aura.

Affiliate links within the app and on this site may earn Aura a commission at no additional cost to you.

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification or email, and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Aura after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
